The focus screen enables you to remotely focus your camera’s lens from your smartphone. It also lets you choose from several advanced focus modes.

How It Works

The focus screen can be accessed by tapping the square focus icon in the upper right corner of the app. From this screen, you can tap on the preview image from your camera to select one or more focus points.

You can tap and hold on the preview image to see a magnified image for precision focusing. Move the crosshairs to the precise spot in your image you want to get in perfect focus.

Single-point Focus

The default focus mode is single-point focus. When you select a focus point, Arsenal focuses your camera’s lens to the exact distance of the subject in that part of the scene.

Multi-point Focus

Select multiple points in your image. Arsenal will control your lens to measure the distance of each focus point. It will then calculate the optimal focal position for maximum sharpness of those points and set the lens to that distance. The formula Arsenal uses is a modified version of the hyperfocal distance formula.

Whole Scene Focus

Arsenal will control your lens to measure the closest and farthest distances in your scene. It will then calculate the optimal focal position for maximum sharpness of the entire scene and set the lens to that distance. This setting is intended for landscape and architectural photography.
