I can't find the Arsenal 2 app.
Search for “Arsenal 2” in your phone’s app store or use the links below. If you’re outside the US, search for the app in your phone’s app store. Arsenal 2’s app is included in the purchase price of your Arsenal 2. If you see another app that attempts to charge a fee, it is not the correct app.
The app won't install or update on my phone/device.
Check if your phone meets the minimum requirements. Arsenal 2 requires a phone running iOS 12.0 or Android 8.0 or later. Even though you may see Arsenal 2 in your tablet App Store, Arsenal 2, and the mobile app isn't optimized for tablets at this time.
Make sure you have internet access and sufficient battery life. Apps may not download or update if your phone is disconnected or low on power.
My phone can't connect to Arsenal 2.
Make sure your Arsenal 2 is powered on. If you don’t see the blue LED light around the power button illuminated, tap the power button briefly to turn it on.
Reboot Arsenal 2. Hold the power button down for 8-10 seconds to force shut down the device. After turning Arsenal 2 back on, allow 20-30 seconds before attempting to connect with the app.
Verify that “Location Services” is enabled on your phone. Location Services need to be enabled to allow the Arsenal 2 app to discover Arsenal 2’s local WiFi network.
Force quit and re-open the Arsenal 2 Remote app. Try quitting your app and restarting it. This may fix the problem.
On an iPhone with a home button, quickly press the home button twice, then swipe up on the Arsenal 2 app. For phones without the home button and running iOS 12 or newer, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, pause for a moment, then release when you see the app cards. Swipe right or left on the cards to find the app you want. Swipe up on the app's card to force it to close.
On an Android phone, go to Settings->Apps->Running, select Arsenal 2 Remote, and tap “Stop”. Now, reopen the app and see if it connects automatically.
Try re-linking with your Arsenal 2. If you still see the connection screen, tap Get Started and try reconnecting to your Arsenal 2.
If there is a VPN blocking the connection you may see the following message when you try to connect. Turn off any VPNs you have running on your phone. VPNs can block connections or make network switching problematic. If you're on a VPN and having connection trouble, try disabling the VPN.
Manually connect to the Arsenal 2 WiFi. Open your phone’s WiFi settings and look for a network beginning with “Arsenal” Once located enter the password “arsenal1234”. Close and reopen the app and follow the instructions when prompted.
Note: If this is the first time you are using Arsenal 2 the initial WiFi name will be “arsenal.” After you have connected your Arsenal 2 will be assigned a unique WiFi name specific to your device in the format of ‘arsenal-adjective-noun-number’.
If you don’t see an Arsenal WiFi network, and your device is on, please email help@witharsenal.com.
Seeing a “Camera Not Detected” message.
Make sure your camera is listed on the Supported Camera List.
Verify that your camera is powered on and not asleep.
Check your USB connection. The curly camera cable must be firmly connected to your camera’s USB port, or Multi port for some users, and either of Arsenal 2’s USB ports. For Arsenal 2 Standard the Micro USB control cable needs to be oriented with the two teeth facing down on the connector. Try reinserting the cable into the port and pushing the cable in more securely on both ends.
Charge your camera battery. Many cameras will shut off the USB port when the battery is low. Even if the camera still functions, a low battery can prevent a connection with Arsenal 2 or cause erratic behavior. This can vary camera by camera, but if your camera’s battery is below 33% power (one bar on a three-bar indicator) that may be causing the problem.
I can use Arsenal 2 to take photos, but they aren't coming out great.
Make sure you’re in the right mode. Some of Arsenal 2’s modes require choosing settings manually. If you’re accidentally in Manual Mode instead of Smart Mode, for example, photos may be blurry or they may be over or underexposed. For Smart and Handheld mode, make sure your camera is in Aperture Priority mode.
In Manual Mode, test whether your camera is showing you an accurate live view. Unfortunately, some cameras auto-correct the live view feed Arsenal 2 receives. That means the settings you choose won’t appear in the live view but will affect the final shot. To test this, take a test shot and see whether it matches what you saw in live view.
In Handheld Mode with a DSLR, take a sample shot when the scene changes. When using a DSLR in Handheld Mode, Arsenal 2 requires a test shot to “see” the scene. If your subject or lighting changes, take a sample shot so Arsenal 2 can recalculate appropriate settings.
